ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
Respect our viewers
All our features involve a certain level of trust. We trust you to be responsible and our users expect that trust, so please be one of them.

We Review Videos Flagged As Inappropriate
When a video gets flagged as inappropriate, Webcast-TV reviews the video to determine whether it violates our Terms of Use. Flagged videos are not automatically taken down by the system. If Webcast-TV removes your video after reviewing it, you can assume that we removed it deliberately and you should take our warning notification seriously. Read our Terms of Use and try to see it from our perspective. If you find other videos on our website with the same violations, please feel free to flag them so we can review them as well!

Don't Cross the Line
Here are some common-sense rules that will help you steer clear of trouble:

  • Webcast-TV will not permit pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your video, even if it's a video of yourself, don't post it on WebCast-TV. In addition, please be advised that we work closely with law enforcement and we report child exploitation. Please read our Personal Safety Tips and stay safe on WebCast-TV.

  • Videos showing abuse of animals, people,  drug usage or bomb making is strictly forbidden.

  • Graphic or gratuitous violence is not allowed. If your video shows someone getting hurt, attacked or humiliated, don't post it.

  • Webcast-TV is not a shock site. Don't post gory videos of accidents, dead bodies or similar things.

  • Respect copyright. Only upload videos that you made or that you are authorized to use. This means don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos to which someone else owns the copyright, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs or videos made by other users, without the requisite authorizations. Read our Copyright Tips for more information.

  • We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But we do not permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or, ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status or sexual orientation/gender identity).

  • There is zero tolerance for predatory behaviour, stalking, threats, harassment, invading privacy or the revealing of other members' personal information. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from being a Channel producer on Webcast-TV.

  • Everyone hates spam. Do not create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails in order to increase views. It's not OK to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments and private messages.

Please take these rules seriously and take them to heart. Don't try to look for loopholes or try to lawyer your way around them, just understand them and respect the spirit in which they were created. Violations of the Terms of Use may result in a warning notification or termination of your account. If your account is terminated you are (will be) prohibited from creating any new accounts.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
The first thing everyone needs to know is that WebCast-TV is NOT for people under the age of 13.

Some Things Are Better Left Private
Posting videos of yourself, your friends or your family can be fun and exciting. You never know who will find it, it might even get featured on the front page or end up as one of the Most Viewed videos! If your video is personal, consider marking it private so that only your friends and those you share it with can view it. This can be done by using the producer controls.

Protect Your Identity
If you do post public videos, make sure there isn't anything in them that could help a stranger figure out your identity or where you live. Personal information like your telephone number or home address should NEVER be shared with other users. Watch out for things like number plates on cars or images of the outside of your house which might accidentally appear in the background of a video and help a stranger to track you down.

Remember, WebCast-TV employees will never ask you for your password, email address or other account information. Don't be fooled if someone contacts you pretending to be from WebCast-TV!

Keep WebCast-TV Safe
Whether it's a flame war, cyber bullying or people just being mean, comments can get nasty sometimes. When you post a video, you can choose whether you want to let people comment on your videos at all. If someone leaves a comment on your video that is rude or bothers you, you can always delete the comment. In addition, you can select the "comments with approval" option available in your producer controls when you upload a video. This means that you get to approve or remove people's comments before they appear on the site.

WebCast-TV doesn't allow videos with nudity, graphic violence or hate. If you come across a video like this, click the link on the video to flag it as inappropriate and submit the form on the next page to report it to WebCast-TV.

WebCast-TV has a great number of viewers every day and like in the real world, most of the people are good, but some aren't. So please take care to protect yourself and your fellow users by keeping personal videos private, your identity a secret, your comments clean and by using the flagging system to report abuse.
COPYRIGHT POLICY
What is copyright? Copyright is a form of protection provided for original works of authorship, including literary, dramatic, musical, graphic and audiovisual creations. "Copyright" literally means the right to copy, but has come to mean that body of exclusive rights granted by law to copyright owners for protection of their work.

What is copyright infringement? Copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner.

Posting copyright infringing content can lead to the termination of your account and possibly monetary damages if a copyright owner decides to take legal action. Below are some guidelines to help you determine whether your video is eligible or whether it infringes someone else's copyright.

As a general matter, WebCast-TV respect the rights of artists and creators, and hope you will work with us to keep our community a creative, legal and positive experience for everyone, including artists and creators.

How To Make Sure Your Video Does Not Infringe Someone Else's Copyrights
The way to ensure that your video doesn't infringe someone else's copyright is to use your skills and imagination to create something completely original. It could be as simple as taping some of your friends fooling around or as complicated as filming your own short movie with a script, actors and the whole works. If it's all yours, you never have to worry about the copyright, you own it! Make sure to follow the other Guidelines in the Terms of Use too.

Be sure that all components of your video are original creations, even the audio portion. For example, if you use an audio track of a sound recording owned by a record label without that record label's permission, your video may be infringing the copyrights of others and may be subject to removal.
